Kamaria is a Bilingual Social Worker, from Durham, North Carolina. She has 10 years of community-based work experience and over 6 years of experience as a community mental health advocate. Specializing in work with marginalized communities, she is currently pursuing her Masters in Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a specialization in substance use disorders and addictions counseling.

Having worked with gender diverse populations, 1st and 2nd generation latine groups, individuals with refugee or asylee status and Black Americans; Kamaria is prepared to explore complex and intergenerational trauma.

Bringing a vibrant and unique perspective to therapy, Kamaria believes in providing a space for clients to feel both seen and heard. Outside of work Kamaria enjoys gardening and exploring new eateries.

At Healing Waves, we believe therapy should be accessible to everyone. Our MSW Intern, Kamaria, is offering sessions at a reduced fee of $50 per session while she completes her graduate training at UNC Chapel Hill. She brings over 10 years of community experience and is supervised by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to ensure quality and support.

Kamaria is intentional about creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered, integrating an anti-oppressive and strengths-based lens to support meaningful healing and growth.
