About Charlotte Shoneman, MSW, LCSWA

Charlotte is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSW-A) at Healing Waves Therapy & Counseling, PLLC. She earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from UNC Chapel Hill in May 2024 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a concentration in Sexuality Studies, also from UNC Chapel Hill.

Charlotte is passionate about working with individuals and partners ages 16+ who are navigating stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, communication challenges, relationship conflict, and life transitions of all kinds. She is affirming of all genders, sexualities, and relationship structures, and creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their strengths and values.

Charlotte believes that clients are the experts of their own lives and is committed to collaborating with them to achieve their personal goals. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic and rooted in evidence-based practices, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).

Outside of therapy, Charlotte enjoys reading, knitting, gardening, and spending time with her chosen and biological families—and her beloved dog, Clover.
